How to read a line move
A line moves when a book changes its price, usually because money came in on one side or news changed the game: an injury, a lineup, the weather. The size of the move matters less than who moved and when. When a sharp book like Pinnacle moves first and the rest follow, the market is reacting to informed money. When one book sits off the consensus, that book is where the best price is, until it corrects.
The number you bet at matters too. Beating the closing line, getting a better price than the market settles on, is the most reliable sign a bettor has an edge over time, which is why the full history from open to close is worth having before you place a bet.

Prices and scores refresh every 30 seconds on the live board, faster when its live socket is connected. The public team pages refresh every 30 minutes.
What is the opening line?
The opening line is the first price BetWatch recorded at each book for that market. Comparing it with the current price shows how far and in which direction the market has moved.
How is the consensus line calculated?
Consensus is the median line and price across the sportsbooks pricing a game. Win chances are de-vigged at each book first, then the median is taken, so one outlier book does not drag it.
